What happens in a therapy session?

Therapy is a confidential and supportive process where you will be heard and understood. You will be invited to share what is on your mind, what is troubling you, your therapist will discuss what’s been going on in your life, challenges you face, and your feelings about it .

Your therapist will use their knowledge to help you gain a new perspective, learn more about yourself, recognize patterns of behavior that are problematic, and develop new skills you can use in your day-to-day life to achieve your goals.

When and why is medication used?

A psychiatrists (MDs) who have extensive training in psychiatric medication prescription management will guide you through the process of learning what works for you. Medication can be one of many treatment options available. Recommended medication most likely will help support your treatment and likely improve results.

How long can I expect to be in therapy?

Depending on your own needs, therapy can be short-term (3-12 sessions), for a specific issue, or long-term, to deal with more difficult patterns.

Is the session confidential?

Patient privacy is a very serious matter. We know that for people must feel and feel safe. What is discussed will not leave the therapy room. There is also laws and ethical code in place to protect your privacy. In some specific situations, therapists are mandated by law to share certain information. The exceptions are:

1) In the event of harm to self or others to protect the patient or the public from serious harm.
2) Therapists are required to report ongoing domestic violence, abuse or neglect of children, the elderly, or people with disabilities.
3) Court orders.
4) Law Enforcements.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept Cash, Benefit and credit/debit cards. All treatment plans and corresponding costs will be discussed upfront during your assessment review visit. Payment for scheduled services will be due at the time of service rendered.
